Cookie policy
Version 1.0 · Effective as of October 14, 2026
This policy explains which cookies doctools.co uses, what they are for, and how you can manage them. It is part of our Personal Data Processing Policy, because some cookies collect personal data such as your IP address or device identifiers. That data is protected by Law 1581 of 2012.
1. What are cookies?
They are small files that a website saves in your browser to remember information about your visit: for example, the items in your cart or whether you have already accepted the cookie notice.
2. Cookies we use
| Type | What they are for | Who installs them | Do they require your authorization? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Maintaining the cart, processing payments, remembering your cookie preferences, and protecting the site against fraud. Without them, the store will not function. | Shopify (e.g.: cart, _shopify_essential, keep_alive, _tracking_consent) |
No. They are always installed because they are essential to provide you with the service you request. |
| Analytical | Counting visits and understanding how the site is used in order to improve it. | Shopify (e.g.: _shopify_y, _shopify_s, _shopify_analytics) |
Yes. They only activate if you accept them. |
| Marketing | Measuring the results of our advertisements and showing you advertising related to Doctools on other platforms. | Meta Platforms, via the Facebook and Instagram pixel (e.g.: _fbp, _fbc), and Shopify (_shopify_marketing) |
Yes. They only activate if you accept them. |
Cookie names may change when providers update their services. We review this list periodically.
3. Your consent
The first time you enter the site, we show you a cookie notice with the options to accept, reject, or choose by category.
- Analytical and marketing cookies are only activated if you accept them.
- If you reject them, you can continue shopping as normal.
- Your choice is recorded in the
_tracking_consentcookie, along with the date you made it.
4. How to change your choice
- You can change your preferences at any time using this button:
- You can also delete or block cookies via your browser settings (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge). If you block necessary cookies, the cart and payment may not work.
5. International transfer
Shopify and Meta may process cookie data outside of Colombia, for example in the United States or Canada. By accepting each category of cookies, you authorize such processing, under the terms of our Personal Data Processing Policy.
